Caring during Covid-19

Mary Hulme was raised in San Francisco, CA and received her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1991. After graduating from college, she unhappily worked in hotel sales for a few years before fleeing to the mountains (and ski slopes) of Lake Tahoe.

Upon her return to San Francisco, Ms. Hulme earned a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from U.C. Berkeley; while there, her studies and research focused on improving access to healthcare for the geriatric population.

Ms. Hulme received her clinical license from the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2004 and went on to earn specialized certifications in health care and gerontology from the National Association of Social Workers.

Over the past 22 years, Ms. Hulme has worked with the geriatric population in both community-based and hospital-based settings, including over 12 years as the clinical social worker for a memory disorders clinic serving clients throughout Northern California.

Ms. Hulme founded Moonstone Geriatrics in June, 2013. In addition to providing geriatric consultations, dementia education, and healthcare advocacy, Ms. Hulme frequently speaks on elder care and dementia throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

“That’s when the VA brought my dad back to Marin Terrace after a hospital stay. The VA was so good to him, until the very end. And we have you to thank for all of that.”
